Rachel is a dedicated caregiver with a lifelong commitment to honoring the dignity and well-being of others. Born and raised in Camphill Village in Copake, NY—a lifesharing community that supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities—she was instilled with a deep respect for service and compassionate care. Her journey as a caregiver began in 2004 when her mother developed dementia, an experience that shaped her calling and set her on a path of providing whole-person and family care ever since.
With extensive experience supporting clients through end-of-life transitions, Rachel goes beyond the duties of a home health aide, offering personalized care based on each individual’s needs and preferences. She has organized dying vigils, provided expert wound care, managed household responsibilities, navigated complex healthcare systems, and ensured beloved pets were cared for—all with an intuitive ability to meet people where they are. Known for her resourcefulness and ability to create a sense of order without direction, she also attends medical visits, assists with medication management, and serves as a trusted liaison between families and healthcare providers.
Rachel is deeply valued for her warmth, honesty, and ability to form strong, lasting connections with clients and their loved ones. Whether coordinating care teams, offering companionship, or guiding families through difficult decisions, she approaches her work with patience, professionalism, and kindness. Former clients have described her as “highly competent and respectful,” “totally trustworthy,” and possessing an “uncanny ability to be right where she is needed at all times.” She is praised for merging expertise with heartfelt presence, ensuring that those she cares for experience their final chapter with dignity, comfort, and love.
